Help with some of your share

Medicare Supplement Insurance, also called Medigap, is coverage sold by private insurers to help pay certain costs left to you by Original Medicare. The policy supplements Original Medicare; it does not replace Part A or Part B.

Medigap and Medicare Advantage differ

Medigap cannot pay the premiums, deductibles, or copayments of a Medicare Advantage plan. These are different types of coverage, and the same insurance company selling both does not change how they work.

Check the rules before changing coverage

The ability to buy a Medigap policy can depend on timing and your circumstances. State rules also matter. Review the policy and applicable enrollment protections before dropping or replacing existing coverage.
