Enrollment outside the yearly window
A Special Enrollment Period is an opportunity to enroll outside annual Open Enrollment when you qualify. Certain events, including losing health coverage, having a baby, or adopting a child, may create that opportunity. Deadlines and coverage start dates depend on your situation.
Keep your application current
If you have Marketplace coverage, report changes in income, household members, or other coverage offers as soon as possible. Changes may affect your coverage or financial help. Update the Marketplace application, even if you have already told the insurer.
Check your next step
Use Marketplace guidance to check eligibility and deadlines rather than assuming every life change allows a plan change. Reporting promptly helps keep your application aligned with your circumstances.
This guide is general education. Your own coverage decisions call for a review of your needs, eligibility, and available options.
